The Feminist Lecture Program in collaboration with Friends of Nunhead Cemetery are delighted to present a Summer of solo shows taking place in the unique location at the Nunhead Cemetery Chapel.
Following an open call, we received more than 150 applications from emerging Female, Nonbinary and Transgender artists to take part in a curatorial program in South East London. A final five were selected to participate and to develop work for Nunhead Cemetery Chapel, each with a particular thematic curiosity in feminism, community, ecology and environmentalism. Week by week, the artists were given access to a selection of gender studies lectures from our back catalogue, meeting online to discuss the lectures and contribute towards group crits. They also received studio visits and mentorship from two creative professionals in the lead up to their shows.
We’re now on the final leg of the journey and gearing up for the exhibitions. Find out more about each artist and their upcoming exhibitions below…
