FLP ARCHIVE MODULES

Over the last six years, The Feminist Lecture Program has built an archive of more than 80 lectures across art, history, politics, ecology, gender, medicine, mythology, science and more.

FLP Archive Modules are a new way of using that archive.

Each Module brings together a group of existing FLP lectures around one theme, arranged into Chapters and accompanied by the original lecturer-selected reading lists. The idea is to make it easier to move through the archive in a more focused way, and to see connections between lectures that may originally have taken place years apart.

This is the first of what we hope will be many Archive Modules, each pulling together a different group of lectures from across the FLP programme.

ARCHIVE MODULE 01

FROM MEDIEVAL MYSTICISM TO POSTHUMAN FEMINISM

Queer Ecologies and More-than-Human Worlds

Created alongside Luisa-Maria MacCormack’s exhibition Subtile Matter, the first Module brings together nine lectures across four Chapters, moving through medieval mysticism, gender and classification, animal behaviour, trans history, cyborg bodies, fungi, Black feminist ecology and feminist worldbuilding.

The Module looks at how we have come to understand bodies and the natural world, and what happens when the categories used to describe them stop holding together.
